As we all settle in to 2025 now seems as good a time as any to let you know where you're likely to find me this year. There have been some diary clashes, and I'm also planning on taking a summer holiday, gasp!
First up will be a new event for me, but not a new venue. It was heartbreaking last year, to think that I would not be back at Blair Castle, with the news that the Horse Trials in 2024 was to be the last one there. So my first event of the year with be back at Blair Castle for the Atholl Gathering on Sunday May 25th. I'm particularly excited about this one as we're also turning it into a mini holiday. (There's a theme appearing here!)

June sees me closer to home with Strathmore Highland Games, at Glamis Castle on Sunday June 8th, and then Alyth Agricultural Show on Saturday June 14th.
July then gets a little busier, starting off with my first visit to Scone Palace for the Scottish Game Fair from 4th -6th July. This will be my 5th year there, and I'm planning someting bigger and better than ever before. July sees my second diary clash, but I have opted to attend Perth Highand Games on Sunday July 13th on the North Inch. This is a date move for PHG, but it is a favourite of mine so was an easy decision to make. July is rounded off with my return to St Andrews Highland Games on Sunday 27th. Hopefully the sun shines just as brightly as it did last year.
I will then take a little time off, which sadly means I am probably not going to be at Perth Agricultural Show this year, but if that changes then I shall let you all know.
Then it'll be time for my second visit to Scone Palace, and the inaugural Scone Palace Horse Trials, or #BlairElsewhere as Rennie christened it. I don't want to wish my year away, but I am really looking forward to this one! Can I win Best Dressed again? Maybe I should even go for Best Dressed Female and Male and do the double! Ha ha ha ha ha.
My season will then be wrapped up with my local Higland Games in Blairgowrie, nice and close to home, it is a well run and well attended event.
As much as I love going out to events it was always my intention to cut them down this year, and my list is cut from 12 to 8, although I'm fairly sure I'm still going to be exquasted.
Hopefully there'll be the opportunity to exhibit alongside my fellow Perthsire Artisans this year too, as that was a fabulous experience last year.
I shall be adding these all to my events section on the website and on my socials, so you can't say you didn't know where to find me. Hopefully see you at at least one of these places.
